Dewalt DWS5102-XJ 2.6m Guide Rail

The Dewalt DWS5102-XJ 2.6m Plunge Saw Guide Rail is a precision cutting accessory designed to guide compatible DEWALT plunge saws and rail-compatible circular saws along a controlled, straight cutting line.

At 2600mm long, it is particularly well suited to large sheet materials, worktops and full-length timber panels, allowing long continuous cuts to be completed without repeatedly repositioning a shorter rail.

Manufactured from aluminium, the DWS5102-XJ provides a lightweight yet rigid track for accurate cutting. Its dual-edged design enables straight cuts in both directions, allowing the saw to be positioned on either side of the rail.

This added flexibility makes it particularly useful when working with larger panels or when approaching a cut from different directions.

Edge strips positioned along both sides of the rail help prevent splintering and tear-out, contributing to cleaner finished edges. Low-friction strips help the saw travel smoothly and securely along the track, while high-friction strips underneath help keep the guide rail securely positioned on the material while protecting the workpiece surface.

An edge protector also helps prevent deformation of the rail edges and reduces the possibility of a saw cable or extraction hose catching on the rail.

For projects requiring an even longer cutting capacity, two compatible guide rails can be joined and accurately aligned using a suitable rail joining bar. Tightening holes positioned on the top of the rail allow the joining bar to be secured without needing to turn the rail over.

For example, when cutting a full-size timber panel for cabinetry, the 2.6m rail can provide a continuous guide across the workpiece.

Once positioned along the required cutting line, a compatible DEWALT saw follows the track while the low-friction strips support smooth movement and the edge strips help minimise breakout. The result is a long, straight and cleaner cut without repeatedly stopping to reposition a shorter guide.
