The Makita DCE090 36V Twin 18V LXT Brushless 230mm Power Cutter delivers powerful cordless cutting performance for demanding construction and site applications.

Designed to combine excellent cutting capacity with the convenience of Makita's popular LXT battery platform, it runs on two 18V LXT batteries connected in series to provide the powerful 36V motor system without requiring a separate battery platform.

At the heart of the DCE090 is an efficient brushless motor capable of delivering a no-load speed of 6,600rpm. Brushless technology helps optimise battery energy while efficiently matching torque and speed to the demands of the application, providing the performance required for challenging professional cutting jobs.

The machine accepts 230mm diameter cutting wheels with a 22.23mm bore and provides an impressive maximum cutting depth of 88mm. This combination makes the DCE090 a highly capable cordless alternative for cutting suitable construction materials where portability and freedom from mains power are important.

Makita's Active Feedback Sensing Technology provides additional protection during demanding applications. AFT automatically shuts down the motor if wheel rotation suddenly slows or the wheel is forced to stop.

An electric brake rapidly stops the fitted wheel after the trigger is released, while soft start suppresses the initial start-up reaction for smoother operation. An overload indicator also alerts the user if excessive load is being applied.

Wet cutting is supported through the integrated water supply connection, helping control airborne dust when cutting suitable materials.

The hose is routed through the tool housing to reduce the possibility of snagging, while a protective battery cover helps shield the batteries from water during wet cutting applications. Makita's XPT technology provides additional resistance against dust and water in demanding jobsite environments.

For example, when cutting concrete paving slabs during landscaping work, the operator can use an appropriate 230mm diamond wheel and connect the water supply to help suppress airborne dust. The 88mm cutting capacity tackles substantial materials, while cordless operation removes the inconvenience of trailing power cables around the working area.

An integrated LED illuminates the cutting area, while a lock-off button helps prevent accidental operation. Measuring 554mm long and weighing approximately 5.6 to 6.3kg depending on battery configuration, the DCE090 combines impressive cutting capacity with excellent cordless mobility.
