The Wera 160 i VDE Insulated Screwdriver is a professional electrical hand tool designed for safe, precise and comfortable work with slotted screws. Combining VDE insulation with Wera’s renowned Kraftform Plus handle technology, it is ideally suited to electricians, installers, maintenance engineers and other professionals carrying out electrical installation and servicing work.

Safety is fundamental to the 160 i VDE design. Each screwdriver is individually tested at 10,000V in accordance with IEC 60900, providing approved safe working with loads up to 1,000V. Wera also impact tests the tool at -40°C, helping ensure dependable performance even under extreme working conditions.

The multi-component Kraftform Plus handle is engineered to improve both comfort and efficiency. Smooth hard zones allow the handle to move quickly through the hand for rapid turning, while softer grip zones provide enhanced friction when greater torque needs to be transferred. Its carefully shaped design sits comfortably within the hand, helping reduce the likelihood of blisters and calluses during prolonged use.

Selected variants incorporate Wera Lasertip technology. A precisely focused laser creates a sharp surface structure at the screwdriver tip, helping it bite into the screw recess. This reduces unwanted slipping, lowers the contact pressure required and improves force transfer for safer and more controlled screwdriving.

Tool identification is made straightforward through Wera’s Take it easy Tool Finder. Colour coding according to the screw profile is combined with size markings, allowing the required screwdriver to be identified quickly within a busy toolbox or tool bag.

A hexagonal anti-roll feature prevents the screwdriver from easily rolling away when placed on a work surface, while the insulated conical blade provides convenient access to slotted fasteners during professional electrical work.
